How to Set Up Rate Information

Steps on creating a rate and setting up the rate information

You can now manage your pricing more efficiently by customizing rates based on each sales channel and date within a specific period. This enhancement ensures more flexibility and accuracy in pricing.

The rate information is the first step of the rate creation, including the basic informations such as rate name, period, night stay requirement, sales channels and price structure.


How to Set Up Rate Information

Step 1 : Navigate to Rates & Availability

  1. Log in to your Delta PMS account.

  2. Once logged in, go to the side bar on your left screen.

  3. Click on the Rates & Availability menu, then click on the Rate Plan submenu.

Step 2 : Create a New Rate

  1. Once navigated to the Rate Plan page, you will be navigated to the All Properties tab.

  2. Click on a property to view its rate details.

  3. You will be navigated into Rate Details page. This page consists of:

    • Room Type dropdown: Select a Room type by clicking on the dropdown to view the rate details.

    • Calendar tab: View all created rate plans in a calendar view.

    • Rate Plans tab: View the list of the created rate plans.

    • New Rate button: Click this button to add a rate plan. There are two options.

      • New Rate Plan : Create a new rate plan.

      • Add from Inventory : Add an existing rate stored in the inventory.

  4. To create a new rate plan, click on the New Rate button and select the New rate plan option.

  5. You will be redirected into the Create New Rate page.

Step 3 : Input the Rate Information

Create New Rate page consists of the following sections:

a. Rate Information

The Rate Information consists of the following:

  1. Room Type Information section is present on the top of this page. Click on the arrow icon or the tab to view the room type information.

  2. There will be several fields to input:

  • Rate Name (Mandatory)

  • Rate Display Name (Mandatory)

  • Rate Description

  • Start Period (Mandatory)

  • End Period (Mandatory)

  • Minimum Night Stay (Mandatory)

  • Maximum Night Stay (skip this section if the maximum night stay is unlimited)

b. Sales Channels

When you select one or more Sales Channels in this section, the rate you configure will automatically be applied and reflected across the selected distribution portals. This includes platforms such as your Direct Booking portal, Agent Portal, and other connected Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

By choosing the Sales Channel(s), you ensure that the pricing is accurately displayed and synchronized across all selected platforms (conditional). If no Sales Channel is selected, the rate will not be published or visible on those portals.

Click on the dropdown to select the sales channels for your rate plan.

  1. The selected sales channels will appear in the Sales Channel Configuration list.

    • Sales Channel: Shows the selected sales channels

    • Payment Plan: Shows the selected payment plans. There are two types of payment plans:

      • Pay at property: Check this option if guest can pay at property on the check-in date

      • Pay while booking: Check this option if guest need to pay right after they create a reservation

      For manual booking and direct booking, you can select up to the two types above. You cannot modify the payment plans of agent booking and OTA sales channels.

  2. You can edit the payment plan anytime by clicking on the dropdown in the Payment Plan section.

c. Input Language

You can also change the input language to input the translation of your rate plan information in other languages. The translation will be applied on the PMS and direct booking.

After completing the Rate Information, click on the Continue button on the top to continue setting up the rate.

You will be navigated to the Rate Details page afterwards to set the pricing, packages, add-ons and rate policies.
