How to set up daily rate in a calendar basis

A base rate is the fundamental element that determines the nightly price and base policy for any additional price adjustments, packages and add-ons. In this article, we will explain how to set up the base rate.


Rate Plan Details - Price Configuration Overview

After inputting the Rate Information, you will be navigated to this page. This page consists of the following sections:

  • Room Type Information summary:

    • Room Type Name

    • Standard Guest

    • Max Guest

    • Number of Availability

    • Total Indoor Area

    • Status

  • Rate Information summary:

    • Rate Plan Name

    • Start Period

    • End Period

    • Minimum Night Stay

    • Maximum Night Stay

  • Sales Channel dropdown: Select a sales channel to display its base rate, packages, add-on and policies. On the first-time creation, the first selected sales channel from the Rate Information will be shown. You can select another sales channel later.

  • Price Configuration: Shows the rate price per night and per guest in a calendar view

  • Mass Edit button: Function to bulk input the price configuration

  • Edit by Date button: Function to input the rate price per date

  • Price Adjustment

    • By number of guests: addition based on number of guests

    • By night stay: discount based on number of night stay


How to Set up Base Rate in Calendar

There are two options to set up the base rate:

Option 1: Set up the Base Rate with Mass Edit Function

Mass edit allows you to input the rate price instantly for several dates within the rate period or the whole period. There are two price settings on the mass edit function:

a. Flat Price

Flat Price setting allows you to input a same value on the specific days within the selected period.

  1. Click on the Mass edit button.

  2. There will be several fields to input:

    • Start Period: Determines the start date of the mass edit

    • End Period: Determines the end date of the mass edit

    • Price Setting:

      • Flat Price: Set one price for all or selected day

      • Custom: Set different prices for each day

    • Applied Days: Option to input the price on specific days

    • Price Type:

      • Exact amount: Input the price with an exact value

      • Adjustment: Input an increment or deduction to the existing price value. You can select this option after all days price have been inputted.

    • Amount:

      • Exact amount: Input the price value in currency format

      • Adjustment: Input the adjustment value in currency or percentage format

    • Apply to All checkbox: Option to apply the input for all sales channels.

      • Apply to all option is always checked on the first-time creation to instantly input the price in all sales channels.

  3. Select Flat Price option

  4. Click on the Applied Days dropdown to select the days you want to input.

  5. On the first creation, Exact Amount is selected as the default price type.

  6. Fill in the price amount.

  7. Click Apply to save the price configuration and apply the price instantly to the selected period.

b. Custom Price

Custom price setting allows you to input different price per day within the selected period.

  1. Click on the Mass edit button.

  2. Select the start period and end period.

  3. Select the Custom price setting.

  4. On the first creation, Exact Amount is selected as the default price type.

  5. Fill the price amount on the desired days.

  6. Click Apply to save the price configuration.

Option 2: Set up the Base Rate in Calendar by Editing Specific Dates

  1. Click on the Edit by date button.

  2. Fill the price amount for each date.

  3. On the first-time creation, the Apply to all option will be checked by default. Inputted price will be applied to all sales channels.

  4. Click Save to save the price configuration.

After finishing the base rate price input for all the dates, you can proceed to add packages or add-ons, if any, or continue to set the rate policy.
