What is a Stock Threshold?
A Stock Threshold determines when a Stock Item is considered Low Stock.
When the item's available quantity reaches the configured threshold, its Stock Status changes to Low Stock.
For example:
Available Quantity: 20
Stock Threshold: 5 items
When the available quantity reaches 5 items, the Stock Item becomes Low Stock.
The threshold is used as a warning point so you can restock the item before the inventory reaches 0 (Empty).
What is Global Low-Stock Threshold?
The Global Low-Stock Threshold is a single threshold configured in Stock Setup that can be used by multiple Stock Items.
Instead of setting the threshold separately for every Stock Item, you can configure one global value and allow Stock Items to follow it.
How do I set the Global Low-Stock Threshold?
Go to Stock Management → Stock Setup.
Find the Global Low-Stock Threshold section.
Click Edit.
Enter the threshold value.
Save the changes.
Once configured, the Global Threshold can be selected by Stock Items that are set to Follow Global Threshold.
What is the difference between Global and Independent Threshold?
When creating or editing a Stock Managed item, you can choose how its threshold is determined.
Follow Global Threshold Setup
The Stock Item uses the threshold configured in Stock Setup.
For example:
Global Threshold = 5 items
A Stock Item configured to follow the global setting will also use:
Low Stock Threshold = 5 items
If the Global Threshold is updated later, the Stock Item continues to follow the global setting.
Independent Threshold
The Stock Item uses its own threshold instead of the Global Threshold.
For example:
Baby Cot → 5 items
Breakfast → 20 items
Each Stock Item can have a different threshold according to its inventory needs.
