The Quantity Type cannot be changed after a Stock Item has been created. This applies to both Independent Qty → Shared Qty and Shared Qty → Independent Qty.
If you need to use a different Quantity Type, you must close the existing Stock Item and create a new Stock Item with the required Quantity Type.
