What is a Shared Area RemoteLock?
A Shared Area is a common area such as a main entrance, gym, pool, or meeting room that guests may need to access during their stay. You can set up a RemoteLock device so guests can use a PIN instead of a physical key.
How do I set up RemoteLock for a Shared Area?
Go to Settings → Self Check-In.
Select the property.
Click + Add Shared Area.
Enter the Shared Area name.
Select RemoteLock as the Key Type.
Select the RemoteLock Account.
Select the RemoteLock Device.
Enter the Fixed Passcode.
Review the Configuration Summary.
Click Save Configuration.
Can I use a dynamic passcode for a Shared Area?
No. Shared Areas always use a Fixed Passcode to keep access simple and reliable for everyone.
What is the Fixed Passcode used for?
The Fixed Passcode is the code guests use to access the Shared Area. The code remains the same until the host manually changes it.
Can I use the same RemoteLock device for multiple Shared Areas or rooms?
No. A RemoteLock device can only be mapped to one room or Shared Area at a time.
Can I change the RemoteLock device after setting up the Shared Area?
Yes. You can edit the Shared Area configuration and select a different available RemoteLock device.
