How to Configure a Shared Area

Written by Delta HQ Support Team

A shared area is a space that is accessible to all guests, such as an entrance, gym, or pool. On Delta PMS, it requires a separate configuration from guest rooms because they are not part of the standard PMS room inventory. Therefore, hosts need to create them from scratch. Follow this article to configure a shared area at your property.

Step 1: Access the Self Check-in Setting

  1. Log in to your Delta PMS account.

  2. Go to the sidebar menu on the left side.

  3. Find Settings > Self Check-in

Step 2: Locate Your Property

  1. In the Self Check-in submenu, go to the Property List tab.

  2. On the Property List tab, you can view a list of properties along with the number of rooms in each property that are configured, disabled, or not configured for self check-in. The number displayed for each status indicates the number of rooms at the property with that status. The status details are as follows:

    • Enabled: A status indicating that one or more rooms are configured to support self check-in.

    • Disabled: A status indicating that one or more rooms are configured, but not supporting self check-in. It means self check-in is disabled for those rooms.

    • Not Configured: A status indicating that one or more rooms have not yet been configured for self check-in.

    • Self Check-In Inactive: A status indicating that self check-in has not been activated in that property.

  3. Search for your property using the search bar.

  4. After finding your property, click the “Manage” button on the right side. You will be redirected to the property’s room-level self check-in configuration page.

Step 3: Add the Shared Area Configuration

  1. On the property’s room-level self check-in configuration page, click “+ Add Shared Area”.

  2. Input the room name, then click “Next Step ➜ ”.

  3. Select the key type.

    • Manual Key Storage: A physical key in a lockbox or fixed location. As the host, you need to store the Access Code/PIN and storage location in the system.

    • Others: Similar to Manual Key Storage.

    • RemoteLock: A smart lock device.

  4. After choosing the key type, you need to set the Access Code or PIN and define the Storage Location. This setup is required if you choose Manual Key Storage or Others.

  5. Click “Next Step ➜ ”.

  6. Review the Configuration Summary. Make sure you input the correct data.

  7. After reviewing the Configuration Summary, click “Save Configuration”.

  8. A ‘Setup Completed.’ notification will appear at the top of the page upon successful setup.

  9. The Shared Area configuration will appear on that page.
