To get started, open the menu on the side nav then navigate to settings. Under settings there will be a "Self Check-In" menu. Click that menu to open the self check-in configuration. You will see the property list page:

Setup Preparation (Optional)

Before you setup the configuration for the property's room you can create the check-in and check-out instruction first:

  1. Under Instructions, click +Create new to write step-by-step check-in and check out instructions, guest will see after verification. Write it once and reuse it across many rooms as you like.

To setup the self check-in follow these steps below:

Head to the property you want to setup the self ceck-in. You will see the property detail page like this:

Step 1: Configure each room's access method

Inside a property, click Configure on a room and choose a Key Type. Choose how guests will unlock the room:

  • Manual Key Storage

Use a physical key or lockbox. You enter and manage the PIN yourself, and Delta Self Check-In will show that PIN to verified guests.

  • RemoteLock (Coming Soon)

Use a supported smart lock. Delta Self Check-In will create and manage uniquie access codes for each booking automatically (no manual PIN updates needed).

  • Others
If neither Manual Key Storage nor RemoteLock applies, select “Others.”

You can store the PIN of your room's lock here. These PIN will be shown to guest when they are verified to check-in.

While confirming, you can assign check‑in and check‑out instructions to your guest. They will see these instructions on the room access code screen after their identity has been verified.

If your property has a shared area such as a gym, pool, or meeting room that uses a PIN lock, you can configure it under the Shared Area section. Here’s how to do it:

Click +Add Shared Area button under it's section

In the first step, give the shared area a name, for example Gym.

After that, the remaining steps are the same as for a guest room.

For shared areas, you can’t assign check‑in or check‑out instructions.

Step 2: Turn on self check-in for the property

After you’ve finished configuring all the rooms, set the property’s self check‑in status to Active.

Go to Self check-in settings. In the property list you can select which property that the self check in configuration is ready.

On the property detail page, click the dropdown in the top‑right corner and select Active.

At this point, there are two levels of controls you need to be aware of:

  • Room level

Turn on Allow Delta Self Check-in for each room you want to include.

Example: You want to keep self check‑in available for standard rooms, but turn it off for your penthouse suite so staff can greet VIP guests in person. In this case, leave the property Active, but switch off Allow Delta Self Check‑In for the penthouse room only.

  • Property level

Set the property's self check-in status to Active to enable self check-in for that property as a whole.

Example: You’re closing the property for maintenance next week and don’t want any guests to use self check‑in during that period. In this case, set the property status to Inactive, even if some rooms still have Allow Delta Self Check‑In turned on.

When active, that property will be ready to receive self check-ins.

Step 3: Configure identity verification

Under Configuration choose how guests verify their identity before receiving room access. A live vide call with Delta support team or no verification at all.

Step 4: Set up your kiosk device

Click Show Property QR at the top of the property page. Scan the QR code with the device you want to use as your check-in kiosk the rest of the configuration happens automatically.

Step 5: You are Ready

That's it self check-in is live for your property. You can pause it anytime by setting a property or room to Inactive, which turns off self check-in without losing any of your configuration.
