Deleting a category that has items attached in the guest services section of PMS requires careful steps to ensure all related items are correctly handled. Follow these steps to delete a category.
Step 1: Navigate to Categories List Page
Log in to your PMS account.
Go to the Dashboard.
On the left side of your screen, locate the sidebar. Click on the "Rates" menu.
Select the "Guest Services" submenu. This will take you to the list of guest services available.
In the list guest services page, choose the "Categories" bar on the right of the Item List bar.
Step 2: Go Over a Specific Category to Delete
In the Categories List page, locate the specific category you want to delete.
Step 3: In Action Column of That Specific Category, Click Trash Icon
Locate the Action column for the category you want to delete.
Click on the Trash icon (Delete button) in the Action column.
Step 4: Click Confirm Button in Delete Category Popup Confirmation
A confirmation popup will appear. Click the "Confirm" button to confirm the deletion.
Step 5: Go to Items List Page
Navigate to the Items List page to review the items.
Step 6: Observe the Show-in Column of Items That Have No Category
In the Show-in column of the items list, observe the items that no longer have a category assigned to them.
To remove a category, change to another category on the item and click the delete button.
Step 7: Ensure the Category Has Been Successfully Deleted
Snackbar Notification: After deleting, a snackbar message saying "Category has been deleted" should appear, confirming that the category was successfully removed.
The selected category should be removed from the Categories List page: After confirming the deletion, the selected category should no longer appear in the Categories list. Verify that the category has been removed.
